Fresh Western "White" Morel Mushrooms
CURRENTLY SOLD OUT - 2021 SEASON OVER.
Our Western white morel mushrooms consist of a mixture of what are commonly called blonde & grey morels (as pictured above). Western white morel mushrooms are the same species as those found in the Midwest (Morchella esculenta) but they tend to be a little smaller in size and slightly drier in texture. What's most important is that they are equally esteemed by many mushroom lovers. Western white morels can vary widely in appearance with a color ranging from a rich tan to pale golden yellow, and they can be found in both conifer and hardwood forests.
Western White Morel mushrooms, like other morels, possess a distinctive honeycombed, hollow, cone-shaped cap. Western White Morels range in size from 2 to 4 inches high (and often much larger) and are renowned for both their exceptional flavor and unusual texture.
All morel mushrooms are highly perishable and must be handled with care. Keep them cool and dry, with a little ventilation - ideally, in the refrigerator in a loosely covered mushroom box or paper bag. Never store refrigerated in a sealed plastic bag!
Please remember: supplies of wild mushrooms are frequently limited.
While we'll do our best to honor requested delivery dates, as always, morels are available on a first come, first serve basis.
